“A fold is always folded within a fold, like a cavern in a cavern” (Gilles Deleuze)
The screen, window or wall about which we imagine and converse; work starting from it. Fold it, make it reflect on itself, on and within each of its folds. I have always employed lived-in used objects in my work. I find the bipgraphies they carry with them after use to be very evocative; their marks, cracks and wear generate a language that I believe speaks about us.
I am very interested in transporting them to plane of contemplation, smashing and folding them to detonate their myriad meanings.
The plane of representation leaps violently to reality, showing their power as objects.
Take the object to a flexible and reversible plane of observation.
